Definition

Loading and unloading goods on and off transport vehicles regardless of the mode of transport, loading and unloading of containerized and non-containerized goods, and unloading of goods from ships, where such activities are carried out at ports, railway stations and airports.

Foreign ownership

The Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 (1999) restricts majority foreign ownership only for the activities named in its three annexed Lists.   • Foreign Business Licence — permission from the Ministry of Commerce to operate a List 2 or List 3 activity as a foreign-majority company.
  • US Treaty of Amity — US nationals may hold majority ownership in most activities, treated as Thai nationals for FBA purposes.
