Definition

The sale of used motor vehicles such as passenger cars and similar small vehicles, regardless of the method of sale; passenger cars, commercial vehicles such as vans, 1-ton pickup trucks, including passenger cars with a bed, and semi-trucks; normal off-road vehicles such as jeeps, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), go-karts, electric stand-up vehicles, or Segways.

Foreign ownership

The Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 (1999) restricts majority foreign ownership only for the activities named in its three annexed Lists. This activity is not among the mappings we hold, so a foreign investor can generally hold up to 100% of the equity, subject to any sector-specific licence and to minimum-capital rules (typically THB 2 million per restricted business, or THB 3 million where a Foreign Business Licence applies).
