Definition

Manufacture of aircraft for transporting cargo or passengers, aircraft used for national defense, and aircraft used for sports or other purposes; manufacture of helicopters; manufacture of gliders, gliders with long, wide-winged beams for the glider to grip and control; manufacture of steerable gliders and hot-air balloons; manufacture of aircraft parts and accessories. In this activity, important components include fuselage, wings, doors, control surfaces, landing gear, fuel tanks, engine housings, etc.; aircraft propellers, helicopter propeller sets and helicopter propeller sets; engines and machinery used in aircraft; engine components, jet turbines and turbine engines of aircraft; preparation of personnel for ground equipment; manufacture of spacecraft and space launchers, satellites, space exploration equipment, space stations, space shuttles; manufacture of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and other missiles of the same type; also includes major repairs and modifications of aircraft bodies or aircraft engines, and manufacture of aircraft seats.

Foreign ownership

The Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 (1999) restricts majority foreign ownership only for the activities named in its three annexed Lists.   • US Treaty of Amity — US nationals may hold majority ownership in most activities, treated as Thai nationals for FBA purposes.
