Definition
Manufacture of irradiation equipment and test tubes (e.g. for industrial use for diagnosis, treatment, scientific research), beta, gamma, X-ray or other irradiation equipment, manufacture of computed tomography (CT) scanners, manufacture of PET scanners, manufacture of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines, manufacture of ultrasound machines, manufacture of electrocardiogram machines, manufacture of endoscopy machines, manufacture of medical lasers, manufacture of pacemakers, manufacture of hearing aids, including the manufacture of food and milk irradiation machines.
Excluded from this code
- Manufacture of analytical instruments for use in laboratories, such as blood analyzers, see subgroup 2651.
- Manufacture of tanning beds, see subclass 2790.
Foreign ownership

The Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542 (1999) restricts majority foreign ownership only for the activities named in its three annexed Lists. This activity is not among the mappings we hold, so a foreign investor can generally hold up to 100% of the equity, subject to any sector-specific licence and to minimum-capital rules (typically THB 2 million per restricted business, or THB 3 million where a Foreign Business Licence applies).
